“HerculesTest Week 1”
We are now entering Hercules Test Week #1. This week we have some fun little test pieces that will help us build on results from earlier in the cycle as well as prime us for the upcoming cycle that will lead us into the Open. This week we are starting the week off with our 3RM Bench Press on Monday, 3RM Back Squat on Tuesday, then our Hang Clean and Jerk Complex Friday. We also have some good tests for our metcon pieces with a nice little chipper that is centered around Deadlifts and Handstand Push-Ups, but also incorporates some big sets here on Double Unders to work on midline stamina as well as upper body interference. We will also be re-testing the workout “Grettel” on Friday to test our barbell cycling and leg stamina capacity in a nice sprint couplet of Power Clean and Push Jerks along with Bar Facing Burpees. Our other main focus metcon will be “Saw Red” with the combo of a 400m Run into Overhead Squats and a max unbroken set of Toe to Bar, which will challenge our athletes ability to understand themselves and workout strategy. A note that this workout will have different variations for our newer athletes as a max unbroken set of Toe to Bar is a little more high level in terms of workout design.
